Grietje van der Mossel has been singing all her life. As a child the highest song in the school musical, as a pupil for her exam subject music, and from her student days in various close-harmony groups with jazz and pop music. Until recently she sang as a low alto in an Amsterdam women's world music choir. Singing together feels to her like breathing. Now she focuses entirely on her passion, which is singing mantras while accompanying the group on her Indian harmonium. In addition to Sivananda and Vinyasa yoga, she practices Bhakti yoga in this way, a way to "come to self-realization through love and devotion." She puts that universal love into chanting together and in that way connecting together. She organizes mantra meditation sessions and mantra singing circles under the name SanghaSang, a name with which she honors connection, her love for language and her Frisian roots.
