Mantra Meditation

Mantras are words or phrases in Sanskrit, with a spiritual meaning, specific energy and vibration of their own. Chanting (or "chanting") mantras brings you into a state of connection. This can be connection with yourself, with others, or with "something higher. This experience is always unique. During this class we chant a number of simple, often ancient mantras. The mantra is the entrance to a state of meditation. We will alternate chanting/chanting and meditation. You will get an explanation of the mantras, but this knowledge is certainly not necessary to experience the positive vibrations of the mantras. The sounds of the mantras take you from thinking, to feeling. And from feeling to awareness and a meditative state that goes beyond your thoughts. A state where your mind can unwind and recharge. You certainly don't have to have singing experience or be "good" at singing! If you find it stressful to let your voice be heard, then this can actually be a very nice way to relieve that stress. You don't have to sing, you can also hum or just listen. Even then the mantras do their energetic work.
