Hallo there, my name is Manu.

My beginning as a yogi could be described as “love at first practice”. Though I knew about the existence of yoga, it felt always as something foreign for me. I have always been a sport person who enjoyed team sport the most (hockey, volleyball, football…). When I moved to Nederland I thought it would be great to join any team but it felt a bit difficult to find “the right place”. Of course, I had other things to focus in, so it did not become my priority.

After a while I felt I needed to do some physical activity regularly besides riding my bike and then it is when I thought maybe yoga can be what I was looking for.

Now I know yoga is much more than a healthy physical activity… all the movement it brought in my inner self was much greater than I expected and so it became something I was (and I am) always looking forward to practicing.

Studio 108 was super close by the place where I used to live. I came at the time I knew a class was about to finish and I wait for someone to speak to. Then I met Amber who not only answered my questions but also showed me the studio. And that’s how I started attending to lessons.

The second class I took was a Candelight Yin & Meditation. I remembered I was at the very front of the class and that I was so moved by the meditation that I ended up crying. I came back another Thursday and Kasia welcomed me with a: “Good to see you” and then immediately: “Would you like to become Karma Yogi?”. Being an Aquarius person, I was a bit afraid of commitment but still I said: “Yes”. And since then I became a Karma Yogi of Studio 108 and this place became one of my rooting points in the city, a place where I happily feel I belong to.
