Yoga nidra is a relaxation and restorative practice, sometimes known as “yogic sleep” or “sleepless sleep”. During a “Nidra & Sound” class, you will be invited to lie down on your mats after a few light stretches, to then be guided through a yoga nidra meditation, accompanied by a deep and slow Soundbath of singing bowls to help you relax more easily.
The focus will be on finding stillness of the body and the mind, to attain a deeper level of consciousness. This profound state of awareness may feel as if you are between being asleep and awake. This is where your subconscious becomes more receptive, allowing you to release thoughts or limitations that do not serve you anymore, and replace them with more positive resolves for yourself.
Yoga nidra is also an effective physical relaxation technique, allowing your body to release tension, stress, and fatigue. (It is even said that 30 minutes of yoga nidra equates 4 hours of deep sleep!).
