Gemma’s yoga journey began with curiosity, which soon turned into an urge to explore what she was capable of offering to herself and others. She came across yoga at the age of 26 and felt as if she had discovered a new universe.
She knew that this was where she wanted to be; this was where she belonged. So, as simple as that, she began helping as a karma yogi at Studio 108. Karma yoga is one of the four spiritual paths, based on the “yoga of action,” or unselfish action without attachment to results.
After actively participating in the studio and practising regularly, she decided to take the next step and travel to India to complete a 200-hour teacher training course with the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center. It was a life-changing experience, and she aims to share as much as possible during her classes, so expect to receive seeds of knowledge about yoga philosophy, pranayama, guidance in the asana practice, and also a bit of fun!
Her goal is to guide students through the practice of yoga with care, love, and tenderness, helping them imprint the different asanas within themselves and find stillness and meditation in any state their body may be in.
You can join Gemma every Friday morning for an Early Morning Hatha yoga class from 7:15 to 8:15. You can also find her at the entrance, welcoming you with a smile!
