Yoga is an ancient practice to reconnect body, mind and soul by building strength, awareness and harmony. Anybody can practice yoga (you don’t have to be flexible!). Yoga is not about achieving ‘picture-perfect’ poses. With the physical practice we develop more awareness. This way we (re)connect with our bodies and our breath.
In our society the practice of yoga is mainly associated with physical exercise and meditation. The ancient body of techniques contains much more: breath work (pranayama), physical activity (asana), philosophical discussion about ethics and conduct (yama and niyama), withdrawal of the senses (pratyahara), concentration and meditation methods (dharana and dyana), ultimately leading into an overall experience of union (samadhi). These 8 steps (ashtanga) are the foundation of our yoga programs.
