I am Aysegul Cekic.
My journey with yoga began when I was 22. At the time, it started as a deeply melancholic experience—one of those moments where life feels heavy, and you’re searching for a way through. But as I’ve learned, every suffering opens a door. That door led me to a practice that transformed my perspective on life and healing.
Outside of the studio, I run Soul Revive, where I work as a holistic life coach. I have always been passionate about listening to people, providing a safe, non-judgmental space for them.My Journey to Studio 108
My connection to this community grew naturally. I began practicing with Sharon and I loved her energy and people, the way we practice together. At some point I was again at a junction and one day the words just came: “Why don’t we organize a retreat together? “That is how we started Studio 108 yoga retreats. Becoming a Karma Yogi was my way of getting closer to the studio community, yoga action and connection.
When you see me behind the desk, you can expect… well, anything! Whether you need to know where the yoga is happening, who is teaching, or where to leave your belongings, I’m here to help. But more than that, you might find a moment for a quick chat or a contagious smile ! My goal is to ensure you feel seen and supported from the moment you walk through the door.
One of my favorite teachings that has deeply shifted my life is the concept of “Action in Inaction.” It’s a profound philosophy that I carry with me both on and off the mat. I always thought doing is great and not doing is weak , negative and worthless . And it is not. Things are not that black and white and balance is what we all seek at the end. Having the action of inaction is also needed, adds value and is not easy!
Yoga isn’t always serious, though. My most memorable moment in class was during Savasana, when I accidentally fell so deep into relaxation that I started snoring! There were two large men in the class, and I watched as everyone glanced at them, assuming they were the source of the noise. I eventually felt the urge to reveal myself—it was the ultimate relaxation!
I look forward to welcoming you to the studio and sharing this beautiful space with you. And you are always welcome to our joint retreats with Sharon and more teachers.
Namaste
